With hospitality workers being hit especially hard by the COVID-19 financial wreckage, wine lovers have a new way to lend a hand.

Township 7 Vineyards & Winery has launched a new campaign called Support, Ship and Sip.

For every online order of a minimum of four bottles, the winery will donate $10 to the BC Hospitality Foundation, a registered charity.

With award-winning winemaker Mary McDermott at the helm, the winery, which has locations in south Langley and Naramata Bench, is offering free shipping right across Canada.  

Look for wines like the 2017 Reserve 7, a Merlot-based Bordeaux blend ($37.97; pour some with olive tapenade and baguette); 2017 Pinot Noir ($35.97; pair it with rosemary-scented roast pork); and the versatile 2018 Pinot Gris ($19.97; hello, grilled halibut).

“We’re all feeling the tremendous impact of the COVID-19 crisis and that is particularly the case with the hospitality industry,” Township 7 Vineyards & Winery general manager Mike Raffan said in a release. “We wanted to find a way to give back to the community as well as continue to support our customers and employees. We hope our $10 donation for each online order will help provide a lifeline to hospitality workers.”

The BCHF provides financial assistance to hospitality workers who are facing financial crisis due to medical circumstances as well as scholarships to up-and-coming individuals in the field.
